My Inexpensive Thanksgiving Table Decor

I had so much fun sharing Thanksgiving Tablescape Ideas from my Pinterest Profile with you that I decided to play around with my own table and put together an Inexpensive Thanksgiving Table. Even though we're traveling for Thanksgiving next week, I couldn't resist the urge to use what I had on hand to create something simple. I'm not a tablescape expert, but it is fun to play!

I like the mix of rustic and fancy:

I found a stack of gold plastic chargers at the Target Dollar Spot, $2.50 for two. I brought eight home with me.

My "china" isn't fancy. My grandmother had some extra stuff she wanted to get rid of a few years back and gave me a set she wasn't using anymore. I think the gold chargers look pretty good with the gold rim and the blue and tannish-brown on my plates:

Last year, my table featured some brown place mats from Wal-Mart's Better Homes and Gardens line ($1.00 each!) and brown cloth napkins wrapped in jute twine. I went with the same idea this time, using my tan tablecloth and a strip of burlap for a runner. The rest of the items were added in from my Fall decorations!

I'm glad I have the blog, so next year (crossing my fingers that we'll be home for the holiday!) I'll just have to look here to see what I did! And I'm pleased to see that my Christmas plates look great with the chargers too!

Do you do have any special holiday table ideas that don't cost a lot of money to put together?

Love this look. BTW, where did you buy your burlap? I want to get some.

I think you may have discovered Chris at Celebrations at Home. She used to be in my MOPS group. She has wonderful ideas on using items from the dollar spot.

I'm in the same boat with you that we never have Thanksgiving at our house, so I didn't bother doing anything for our table. I did fix up my mantle. I need to put pix on my blog of that. Thanks for the reminder!

Hope y'all have a great Thanksgiving!

Your table looks great! Do you keep it set like that all the time? I can't keep stuff like that on my breakfast table because that is where we eat and my boys do homework and my dining room table is covered with my sewing machine and crafty stuff:)

Looks really pretty, Amanda! I've got those same Target pumpkins on my Fall Mantel in today's post! Gotta love the dollar spot! ;)

Oh I love the china your Grandma gave you! And I am bumming because I just bought those chargers in silver for $2.25 each! Dang, you scored on yours. The whole table setting looks very welcoming.

Seriously - you did not get those chargers for $1.25 each? They look great with your grandmother's china and your holiday pattern. Great find!

It looks great!!
I love how the chargers compliment your china.

We keep things simple here..contractor's paper for the kid's table - they can color on it & when we're done, it's easy to toss.

OH!!! Those were my grandmother's china plates, too. That just made me SMILE. I ate many a Sunday dinners on those plates... What is the pattern? For the life of me, I can't remember who got my grandmother's plates...

OH, beautiful table, by the way!!! The gold chargers were SUCH a wonderful addition!

I really like it! Looks great! I saw those chargers at Target and bypassed them. Grr. Now I'm wishing I hadn't. :)

Very pretty! I love the rustic look with the twine and the pumpkin on the cake stand. I don't have any confidence in my decorating skills so I generally just ignore my table decor!

I love how things just fit together sometimes! It's really nice that the chargers were so cheap and just happen to match 2 seasons of dishes. I'm heading to target asap.

I love to incorporate classic pieces that can be used for almost any holiday...like your gold chargers! I also like to buy items after the season when everything is discounted. Very nice table!
