Recipes for Ice Cream without a Machine

I bought an ice cream maker on clearance once. I made chocolate first (duh), but it was gritty and not at all appetizing. With every acknowledgment that this post makes me the cliched pregnant girl eating ice cream (no, I do not mix mine with pickles!), I thought it would be fun to do a round up of ice cream recipes that don't use an ice cream maker.
Ice Cream Recipes without a Machine! at Serenity Now

2 Ingredient Ice Cream

Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

Pistachio and Berry Ice Cream

Hazelnut Mocha Fudge Swirl Ice Cream

Anyone else feel like dishing up some of these tasty recipes right away?

What's your favorite ice cream flavor?

  1. Thanks for all these yummies Amanda! I have quick recipe that I've used for years, takes less than 5 mintues too! I freeze my bananas (peels off) and then just blend away once I'm ready to serve - I top them off with any topping you can think of (specially chocolate syrup0! It's yum, quick and much healthier too!!!! Happy eating for two!

  2. Love not having to use or store a freezer. Thanks

  3. I want to hug you right now!! Not only am I preggo and craving ice cream, it's hot as can be and I've been wanting to try homemade ice cream but have not wanted to buy yet another kitchen appliance! This was PERFECT timing!!!!

  4. Yum! We just bought a vitamix and I am so anxious to try some of the frozen dessert recipes.

  5. These look delicious! After all, a pregnant woman needs calcium, right? At least that's what I always told myself when I was pregnant and craving ice cream. I planned all my pregnancies so that I was never very pregnant in the hottest part of summer, but still. Nice cold ice cream never hurts! :)

If you don't mind my posting a link here, I can heartily recommend my own concoction of Peanut Butter Ice Cream. Here's a link in case you want to check it out:

(Feel free to delete this if it seems to spammy to leave a link. I wouldn't do this very many places, but I figure you know me so maybe it's okay!)

  6. Richella's peanut butter ice cream looks fabulous and so does Inside BruCrew's Reese's Fluffernutter. I used to love making homemade ice cream in the summer when I was a kid. We had one of those machines that you had to turn by hand. Needless to say, we only made ice cream once or twice a year.

I love to hear your feedback! Please feel free to leave comments...just don't send me spam asking me to buy stuff off your website! I've got three kids and no money to purchase your magic weight-loss pill or bust enhancement, or whatever else you might be selling. Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you! :)
