Accessorizing an IKEA Expedit?

They say adding texture to a room is always a must when you're decorating, but I wonder if fur is really the way I should go when I start adding stuff to my new thrift store score Expedit.

Yeah, Emma wasn't convinced either.

What do you accessorize shelves with?

Very cute!

I have a white Expedit in my living room - I'm pretty sure neither of my dogs (one is a german shepherd) would fit in there!

I have used a fabulous wallpaper on the inside back wall. Also some of those little pot lights to highlight special things.

Oh, I don't know. . . seems to me that fur is very versatile! Goes with everything, right?

She is one cute girl, isn't she?

I LOVE your dog! Whenever I see a picture of her, a smile instantly approaches my face <3

I love using stamps or stencils. Lights are always a nice accent to shelving.

Also, my FAVORITE tool to use for adding texture is... TISSUE PAPER! I love tissue paper... I'm addicted. You can fold it in different ways, crumple it or even tear it. It gives your project an amazing texture, especially if you layer. Also, I use mod-podge to make it stick.

I cannot wait to see what you do! I have similar IKEA shelves and I find it hard to make them look stylish while also using them for storage and not looking cluttered.

Oh my goodness she looks so cute! :-) Did you get any baskets to put in the shelf? I can't wait to see what you do with it! :-)

She's so cute! Our Expedit is so full of books there's no room for accessorizing. No dusting, though :)
