"Before and After" Quickie Makeover

So I guess some of the pervie internet people out there will just looove today's title. I really wanted to link up with the CSI girls today, but it just wasn't in the cards. Too much going on this week to try to knock off one of these for the challenge:
As I was washing dishes, trying to think of something fun and housey to write about today, I saw the top of my new microwave and remembered The Nester's 31 Days to a Less Messy Nest series.

So, here's the before:

Um, I told you guys I keep it real. Open bag of napkins and syrup spot on the countertop included.

Nothing that can't be remedied with some 409 spray and a $7.99 napkin holder from my favorite local boutique, Tarjay.

Or Target. Whatever.

I like that I can spray paint this piece easily if I decide the black is not working anymore. Sometimes little changes make a big difference.

{Have you completed any quickie makeovers lately?}

  3. That's the best kind of makeover...the ones that take 2 minutes, make a big impact, and make you say "why didn't I do that before?".

  8. Big impact with little effort. Love that.

    Thanks for visiting my blog - which I started primarily because my mom is learning to use the computer and I knew that would keep her interested. Turned out she was looking at the comments and hopped on over to your blog. She was SO impressed! She even got a couple of recipes from you. She and my dad were bragging on how you do it all...and then they asked how I knew you. ha! You never know who you're going to end up spreading your inspiration to! Thanks for sharing it with my 77-year-old parents :)

  11. Just clearing my countertops puts me in a better mood. I try to keep them clean but it doesn't always work. On Monday, I spent 5 minutes clearing them and wiping them down. Ahh.... so much better. =)

  12. Hey, I just wanted to let you know that I did link up a post with CSI yesterday, and have not had one comment from that. Furthermore, I noticed that the participants that I visited had no-to-very-few comments dated from yesterday or later, other than mine.
    So, you didn't miss much. >:(

I love to hear your feedback! Please feel free to leave comments...just don't send me spam asking me to buy stuff off your website! I've got three kids and no money to purchase your magic weight-loss pill or bust enhancement, or whatever else you might be selling. Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you! :)
