DIY Christmas and Holiday Card Display

Fun Christmas Craft post today! My Season of Serenity (Now) at Home series is still going strong, and will wrap up later this week. Today's creative crafty tutorial comes from Megan, who blogs at Honey We're Home. Megan has a wonderfully simple, yet pretty way for you to organize those Christmas cards the mailman keeps bringing to your door.

Here's Megan!

Ahhh, the Christmas shopping is D-O-N-E! I am really pleased with what we chose for our friends and family and I cannot wait to give them their gifts!!  I selected most of the ‘girl’ gifts and my husband picked out things for the guys- after all, he’s the expert;)  I’m working on wrapping the gifts and making personalized gift tags that I’ll show you later in the week.

Today, I’m sharing how we are displaying our holiday cards this year:

I used clothespins, red and white twine, and command hooks to create the card holder.

Then I decorated the clothespins with craft paper, ribbon, and bows using tape.

Glittered green bows hide the command hooks:

Did you get your shopping done too?  Every year I say I’m going to finish sooner, but I never do.  Next year?? Ha!

Thanks, Megan, for dropping by to show us how we can organize and display our cards. I have a small pile on my sideboard that needs a place of honor.

Please be sure to visit Megan at Honey We're Home. Her blog is an inspiring spot for all things design. Don't forget to tell her I sent you!

I can't believe Christmas will be here this weekend! Are you ready? I have some major baking to do later in the week, and definitely some cleaning, but most of the shopping is done--hurray!

  1. This is such a cute idea! I used to hang our cards on some ribbon on the back of our door, but I wanted to do something different this year....love this idea!

  2. I really like this idea... so much better than just hanging them on my fridge. If only I had enough wall space somewhere to do this.

  3. This is a really cute card holder, and no wonder--everything Megan does is lovely. I've not been to her blog lately, so I should pop over and say hello!

I'm proud for you that you've finished your shopping--but to tell the truth I'm also a little envious! This time, the week before Christmas, always makes me wish I were more organized. I haven't even mailed the packages to out-of-town family members yet. And I gave up on the idea of sending Christmas cards this year. I guess that if I want to send cards on time next year, I probably should get the cards ready right when the boys go back to school in the fall. Maybe then I'd have them done on time! :)

I love to hear your feedback! Please feel free to leave comments...just don't send me spam asking me to buy stuff off your website! I've got three kids and no money to purchase your magic weight-loss pill or bust enhancement, or whatever else you might be selling. Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you! :)
