I came home from church on Sunday to find that some more Followers had signed up here, putting me just over the 1000 mark.
I'm being truly honest when I say I never really expected to reach this point. To some of you, 1000 Followers is small beans...to others of you, it's a goal you might like to shoot for.
When I started this blog, an outlet for my thoughts and creativity, I didn't really think anyone would bother to read it. My own mother wouldn't even read it, for crying out loud. (To be fair, she barely knows how to access her email, but still.)
I kept writing.
A few loyal friends would stop in to comment, and very. very slowly, I saw the faces in that little box on my sidebar multiply.
Some wonderful bloggers with larger sites and a lot more talent have been kind enough to feature my blog or link to me from time to time, and I know I owe a lot of the blog's growth over the last year or so to them.
That 1000 of you would click that little blue "Follow" button is both humbling and gratifying.
If my blog, which does not fit into any particular niche at all, can grow, so can yours! My blog isn't the most creative; it isn't the funniest; I'm not a designer; and I'm not a photographer. Consistent posts, good networking, linking back to others, and kind features from good blogging friends have been the key to my growth.
I am so grateful to those of you who have Linked to, Tweeted, Facebooked, Commented, and-yes-Followed me. Your support means a lot to me, and I wish I could give you all a hug. Or a high five if you're not a huggy person.
I hope I can keep entertaining you with my blog "about nothing."

I do love your blog!! So much information and entertainment! It is wonderful to "network" with so many who have so much in common! You are inspiring!! I am also not a photographer, or a writer,etc, I just had so much "stuff" in my head. I decided to blog about it...I will follow your philosophy and hope to get to the 1000 mark one day too! it won't be long before you are at 10,000! You go girl! :)

Way to go on 1000 followers. I have 22. LOL. Well you're a great blogger so of course people are going to follow you. I have been busy with school this past week so I just got around to reading your posts from the past week. Sorry about your hair. It still looks great though. You know what? I really like that you take the time to comment back to your readers. I comment on so many blogs and not even a thank you. Sometimes I think that the bigger they get they just forgo taking the time to connect with their readers. So anyway, thanks. I really do appreciate it.

It seems to me that I must keep coming back for the content. That is to say that I think you've undersold yourself above. A thousand followers by anyone's reckoning comes down to good content. You've done an amazing thing. Take some of the credit, please. (Everything I write today sounds like I'm yelling. I'm not yelling I'm applauding.
