I'm fairly certain that if God had chosen to bless me with all boys instead of two beautiful little girls, I'd find ways to incorporate bows and frou-frou into my sons' lives...or maybe just give pretty things away as gifts.
Either way, I am lucky to have met Samantha, who owns Harper's Hat Box, an Etsy shop stocked with fabulous accessories for moms and kids. Stick around, because Sam has a little Giveaway to share with you today!
The neat thing about Sam's shop is that she stocks a variety of fun, creative, and perfectly matched items: hair accessories, flip flops for moms and girls, tutus, personalized sippy cups/water bottles and snack packs, bow holders, burp cloths, diaper covers, and more...my fingers are tired just from typing it all!
Sam got her start with creating accessories after experiencing some frustration over not finding what she was looking for locally, and being disappointed in several orders she placed online. She opened Harper's Hat Box in 2010. Her brightly colored bows and headbands attracted orders from friends and acquaintances, and it quickly snowballed into an Etsy Shop and Facebook Page featuring her creations.
I am the proud owner of a pair of women's flip flops from the shop, and those are some of my favorite items. My family lives in flip flops during the summer, and Harper's Hat Box has many options to choose from!
Bows and headbands are the shop's most popular items, but the tutus are also a big seller. I can see why:
Sam recommends placing custom orders early, especially around holidays like Easter, Mother's Day, the 4th of July, etc. but she can also take rush orders. So many of her custom orders are taken locally and through trunk shows, that she recommends checking out the Harper's Hat Box Facebook Page for a real picture of the most recent and up-to-date products.
I'm a huge fan of monogramming and personalized items, and Sam notes that most of her work is custom. Customers can email her, message on Facebook, or even send a conversation through Etsy to chat about what they are looking for. She is often able to match outfits and other items by looking at emailed photos from clients.
She was able to match my girls' Easter dresses for me recently, and we had the bows just in time for pictures!
Girls might be full of sugar (Michaela Byrd) and spice (Natalie) and everything nice, but they can also be hard on their hair bows. The monogrammed bows that Sam crafted for my girls were not only beautiful and classic looking, but they were also sturdy--held firmly down on French clips.
I was most pleased that the bows were large, but didn't detract from their Easter dresses and they weren't distracting in the photos!
Guess what?
Sam wants to give one lucky Serenity Now reader their choice of one of these two stylish Spring/Easter bows. You don't need to have girls to enter this one...either of these would make a wonderful gift for a lucky little girl!
