"A Major Award"

I got in from Orlando last night this morning ? around 1 am. I was ready to head straight to bed, but a box on the table caught my eye. A box with my name on it. A box containing the major award I won from HGTV's Design Star Twitter party that the Nester hosted a few weeks ago.

She chose my Tweets as the funniest and messaged me to say that HGTV would be sending me a prize pack. Never mind that she warned me the box would most likely contain a drink koozie with "HGTV" stamped on the front and maybe, if I was lucky, a magnet.

I feel that my story strongly parallels that of Ralphie Parker's father in my favorite movie, A Christmas Story. If you've never seen it, save it for Christmas. I didn't know if HGTV was sending me the "deed to a bowling alley" or maybe Candice Olson in a box, but I was very excited.

The box even said "Frageelee" on the front. I think that's Italian. (sorry for the poor video)

I wanted to share my major award with you all today. It's way better than a leg lamp, for sure. Don't rain on my parade, y'all.

Umbrella, travel mug, mug for home, iPod case, towel, tee shirt. I likes it!

I was truly pleased that 1) The Nester thought I was funny and 2) that HGTV sent me anything at all. I will proudly sport that travel mug all around town!

I guess there are some people who just don't find joy in the little things....
