Family Friendly Food Week: Coming Soon!

I am super excited to announce a fun week of Family Friendly Food with a link up, guest posts with recipes and tips, and a Giveaway! We'll start September 19th!

One of the things I really (like, really) struggle with is meal planning, saving on groceries, and serving new dishes. T works a lot--long hours, the majority of the week. That means I am home alone with the girls for dinners most nights. My desire is to raise kids who are willing to try new things and eat healthy foods.

I do pretty good with offering healthy choices for the kids. The girls do fine with vegetables, fruits, fiber, protein, etc. etc. But they pretty much stick to a few standard meals, and I think we are all over it. I also want T and I to do a better job for ourselves...and that's where the planning comes in. I think that making wise food choices takes some planning.

Family Friendly Food Week will hopefully be something that all of my readers can learn something from. I don't think you have to be a mom or dad to work on meal planning or consider couponing to save money on groceries.

I'm hoping that on September 19th (8 am ET), you'll stop by to link up a food-related postMeal plans, tips to start meal planning, a comfort food recipe, dessert, crock pot recipe, healthy snack ideas, couponing strategies, pantry organizing tips, you name it! If it's something you think would help another reader out in the kitchen, please add it to the party.

The Rules for the link party will be:
1. Link back to the party within your post (because--I'm being real here--it's a lot of work to put on a blog party and traffic should be reciprocal) and
2. Visit some of the other links at the party to promote a good blogging atmosphere. This should be about sharing ideas and encouraging one another!

I have some great guest posts lined up, and a fun Giveaway too! Joining the link party will even earn you an extra entry, so come prepared to show off your stuff!

Here's the code for the button if you'd like to put it on your sidebar somewhere:

  1. What a great idea Amanda! We recently started meal planning due to our daughter's sports schedule and it has been a lifesaver. I now know what's for dinner and have all ingredients on hand. I am always looking for quick and easy recipes too! I posted about a quick and easy mac-n-cheese yesterday (gotta love Paula Deen).

  2. I can't wait to pick up some good ideas. I struggle with meal planning too and feel like I'm either always making the same thing or making way too many trips to the grocery store.

  4. Oh, this is right up my alley! Yay! I can't wait!

And like Simply LKJ, I am dealing with sports practices and I need some new dinner ideas for those nights. I do NOT like washing dishes at 9 pm after Mr. Sahm and I have finally had our dinner.

  5. Great idea, Amanda...I am looking forward to it! I am a big couponer and I do weekly meal plans (and really try to stick to it)and I am all about quick, easy and family friendly dinner ideas. But I am ALWAYS searching for new stuff. Thanks for planning this fun week :)

  8. That's a great idea! I have been pretty lucky with not so picky eaters. It's always been a rule at our house that you always have to try at least 3 bites of something new - if you don't like it, you don't have to eat it, but you have to do the 3 bites. Most of the time, they end up liking it.

  14. Great idea! I've been couponing for awhile, but my meal planning stinks! Many nights we end up making pancakes and eggs because I didn't have a chance to get a real meal together. I will be looking for some inspiration!

I love to hear your feedback! Please feel free to leave comments...just don't send me spam asking me to buy stuff off your website! I've got three kids and no money to purchase your magic weight-loss pill or bust enhancement, or whatever else you might be selling. Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you! :)
