IKEA Shopping Trip and Home Decor Ideas (March 2013)

Our IKEA is less than 45 minutes away (on a good traffic day), so I like to head up every other month or so to check out what's new in the showroom. I always leave with lots of decorating ideas...they may not always be implemented due to "budgetary restrictions," but it sure is fun to window shop. My friend Christy joined the girls and me for some Spring Home Decor Shopping, and we spotted all kinds of fun decor items!

(Thanks for bearing with the iPhone pics...I didn't want weird looks from other customers staring at my Nikon as I tried snapping shots of a bathroom. And the iPhone is way easier to carry!)

Love the pendant fixtures, and the "ladders" on the wall for holding throws, blankets, etc. Would be cool to see one or two of the rungs as shelves.

Christy and I noticed a definite trend of pink/shabby chic accessories.

A couple of the bedrooms had been redecorated since last time. Love the sideways mirror!

Such a fun new kids' bedroom collection:

They have a pretty new pillow pattern with gray, mustard, and red hues. Christy and I also liked how the designers hung a length of the fabric in front of some red window panels for contrast.

I had some more fantastic photos to show you, but this post is becoming epic-length. I did bring home some goodies for myself: three white candle holders, a candle set, a couple kitchen gadgets, and some super-cute paper napkins with cake knives/coffee mills/entertaining stuff on them that I thought would be fun for Book Club:

  5. Thanks for posting this. I wouldn't have mind if you would have posted more pics. :) The closest Ikea to me is 4 hours away! I only go once a year, so your Ikea updates are great for me to see what's new!

  10. I went to IKEA 2 weeks ago. I LOVE that store. I bought 2 of those bottles but I have no idea what I will do with them - I'm thinking vinegar or oil. Always find something good there.

I love to hear your feedback! Please feel free to leave comments...just don't send me spam asking me to buy stuff off your website! I've got three kids and no money to purchase your magic weight-loss pill or bust enhancement, or whatever else you might be selling. Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you! :)
