Gone Baby Gone

So if you read yesterday's post and/or saw my Facebook post last night, you know that this hasn't been the best of weeks between my surviving canine bedlam and binge eating chocolate chips from the baking cabinet. While, yes, I meant the posts to be tongue in cheek, I felt like perhaps today should be more of a positive.

This is what I did all day yesterday, in between school drop-offs and pick-ups and keeping three dogs from systematically dismantling my house:

Yep, in my quest for a purged home, I tagged and bagged and hung dozens of little girl clothes yesterday and then sent them on their way to consignment. It felt so good to get stuff out. of. my. house. Out!! I saved a few things for a local consignment shop and the rest will be donated this weekend.

It was a little sad to see some of the really special outfits go, like a green wool Rothschild winter dress coat and matching bonnet style hat, but I had to tell myself that we had NO use for it, and it was time to say farewell. And hopefully I'll make some cash from the sale!

I'm slowly getting baby boy's room cleared out. Once all the clothes are gone, I'm going to let myself have some fun with organizing my new WorkBox. My to-do list is still a mile long and pretty overwhelming, but I have to give myself some points today for getting some major work done!

Have you organized or gotten rid of anything lately?

  2. It's so hard to let things go, isn't it? Yet it feels good to have things cleaned out!! You're smart to put things on consignment--your girls have such cute clotehs! I'm in the middle of cleaning out my closet right this minute. But I don't think there's anything there that will get me any cash.

  3. I wish I were as organized as you Amanda - I have tons of stuff I need to get rid off too, but with the just finished kitchen reno and another reno in progress, I just don't have the energy yet! Slow down on those cookies dear... :-)

  4. It does feel good to get rid of things, doesn't it? Now the girls have plenty of room for new things in their closet.

I just recently started taking things to a local consignment shop and love getting a check for items that I wasn't wearing. I need to clean out my husband's closet next.

  5. I have been like a crazy lady. I have put things away and actually labeled the boxes they are in. My girlfriend and I are having a combined tag sale this weekend and whatever doesn't sell will be donated to charity because I don't want anything back in the house. It feels good to be more organized.

I love to hear your feedback! Please feel free to leave comments...just don't send me spam asking me to buy stuff off your website! I've got three kids and no money to purchase your magic weight-loss pill or bust enhancement, or whatever else you might be selling. Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you! :)
