Valentine's Day Decorations in My House

I don't go over the top with seasonal decorating, but I usually do put up a few cute things for holidays because the girls get such a kick out of it. Our prime decorating spots are the top of the TV armoire (my "mantel"), the buffet in the dining room, and the blank walls in the kitchen that are waiting to be sanded again and painted. Here's a peek at this year's Valentine's Day Decor in our house:

This is the top of the TV armoire in the family room. The idea was, again, to use what I have on hand. Long-time readers will probably recognize most of these items. But I figured you wouldn't mind since you don't have to live here with us. (wink) I like using some of the same elements and switching things up. This comes in handy when you don't have dedicated storage for decorative pieces. Oh, the woes of a home with no basement or garage!

I use the little scottie dog in a lot of seasonal decor because I think he's the cutest thing. I wrapped some extra pom pom trim around his next for Vday:

My dining room already had a little winter theme going on, and since we very much still have some chilly weather, I decided to incorporate a little Valentine vibe:

We have a big, blank wall in the kitchen (waiting to be painted), so I filled some of it with a Dollar Spot banner and an old wood heart wreath:

Add in a couple little heart shaped dishes with chocolates, and we're set!

  1. I'm headed over to Hob Lob today to see what valentine-y things I can get to spruce what I already have - I don't usually do much for V-Day. I want to add some neutral hearts and such - thinking burlap and such!

  4. In a house full of men, I usually don't decorate for V day, but I love looking and enjoying others decors though, just like yours! :-)

I love to hear your feedback! Please feel free to leave comments...just don't send me spam asking me to buy stuff off your website! I've got three kids and no money to purchase your magic weight-loss pill or bust enhancement, or whatever else you might be selling. Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you! :)
