Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie

I'm pretty sure that there is nothing so tasty as the combination of chocolate and peanut butter. Do you agree? This recipe for Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie was a hit at Easter lunch...I wish I'd made a second pie. Keep reading to see how simple this is to make, and to download a free printable copy of the recipe!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie
adapted from Jif

Ingredients:
1 prepared chocolate cookie pie crust
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup Jif creamy peanut butter (I've also made it with Peter Pan because that's what we had, and it was not as good as the Jif pie!)
8 oz. cream cheese at room temperature
4 1/2 cups Cool Whip (12 oz. container)
1 (11.75 oz) jar of Smucker's hot fudge topping

Directions:
In a medium bowl, beat peanut butter, cream cheese, and sugar. Gently fold in 3 cups of Cool Whip and spoon mixture into pie shell. Using a spatula, smooth mixture to edges of pie shell. Put hot fudge in a bowl and microwave for one minute. Stir, then cover the peanut butter layer and freeze. Garnish each slice with whipped cream as they are served.

  6. My goodness, Amanda, that looks delicious! I love chocolate and peanut butter combinations, especially if they're cold. (Somehow hot desserts are too rich to me; not sure why.) Thank you for the recipe!

I agree with you on Jiff being better than Peter Pan.

  10. OMG, Amanda, you are killing me with this pie! It looks soo good. And the mention of Jif and it being a tastier pie when its made with it, I'm soo sad I can't buy it anymore. I always used to buy Jif, but 12 years ago when I moved to Canada they didn't have it. Then one day, maybe 10 years ago, they started carrying it everywhere. Well, for some reason last year Smuckers decided to stop selling it here!! There's even a facebook page dedicated to Canadians who love Jif. For a while people were posting where they had scored some. And some people even posted making special trips down to the States just to buy it!! Funny, huh? I know it sounds crazy. Anyway, your lovely pie just brought it all back. hahaha I'll definitely have to give this a try.

Oh, and I really like lemon and strawberry together. Soo fresh and summery tasting. =)
