Pumpkin Patch Love

One of the Fall events I look forward to most is taking the girls to the pumpkin patch. Natalie hasn't made the trip yet this year with her half day kindergarten schedule, but Michaela Byrd and I got to explore a local pumpkin patch last week with our MOPS group. If you have young kids (or even babies), I highly recommend this as a family friendly activity...lots of good photo opps! I was heading up the event, so I didn't have too much free time to snap pics, but I did get a few....

What's more fun for kids than a morning at a farm?

The animals are always a big crowd-pleaser...

"Why, hello, EstherSue. May I borrow a cup of sugar?"
"Of course, Betty Mae. Y'all come on in!"

The hayride and the barn are just as much of a hit for the moms as they are for the little ones! I love the look of this worn-in old tractor...

Lots of eye candy on a farm....

And let's not forget the whole point, which is the pumpkins. Slim pickins' this year, but someone enjoyed it enough to get a little crazy with the posing (she is soooo my child!).

Do you have a favorite Fall outing that you look forward to?

  1. We went to the pumpkin patch as a family two weekends ago and we are going with the preschool this week. I love going to the pumpkin patch too and getting really unusual pumpkins. Every year for the past few years we've had a family picture taken on the hay ride. I love seeing how big the kids have gotten from one year to the next.

  4. What great photos! Girls are so funny when you get a camera out. Fall is my favorite of the year! Since we're moving in about 3 weeks, I'm not getting any of our fall decor out. Sadness.

I'm doing a week of giveaways on my blog. Stop on over!

  5. You got some great pictures! The pumpkin patch is so much fun! It is actually cool enough here this week that we might enjoy a visit! We look forward to the fair every fall and the fall festival at our church!

  6. Oh, gosh, it doesn't seem right for Natalie not to be in these photos! I guess a Kindergarten student is not free to go to the pumpkin patch with the MOPS group, is she? :)

Miss Michaela Byrd looks like she was doing just fine without big sister, though. What a flair for drama!

My favorites photos are 1. the two hens; 2. MB's hand and the horse's nose; 3. the shot of the two of you. Hooray! You actually got IN one of the photos! A beautiful shot!

  8. It sure looks like fun was had. Your daughter is a cutie. And yes I loved the posing. Oldest granddaughter always did that too. 23 and still does it when a camera is in site.

I love in the fall to just take a nice long drive to look at the fall colors. We always stop at an apple orchard and get apples along the way.

Some days we will find a beautiful park with walking trails and just walk in the colors and sounds of a fall day.

    Just so relaxing.

  14. I LOVE the pictures of your daughter with all the pumpkins around her (ok, just 2 pumpkins, but she's acting like they're surrounding her). It REALLY shows her personality!

I am new to your blog and it is so pretty ... I'm so glad to have found you!

  15. What a fun outing! You got some great pictures, too! I love how farms like this have interesting things for kids to do besides just pick pumpkins.

The tractor picture reminds me of my dad because his tractor looked exactly like the one you photographed. It's still sitting in the shed on the farm, unused now. That tractor did a lot of work in its day.

  16. Such sweet pictures! We went to the pumpkin patch today with E, and last week with L. So much fun, isn't it? Love the horses. Looks like an awesome pumpkin patch where y'all went!

  17. We usually go to the pumpkin patch or apple picking, sometimes both. Around here, the pumpkins at the pumpkin patch are way more expensive than at Aldi or Walmart, so we usually just have fun with the games and animals, and buy our pumpkins elsewhere!

I love to hear your feedback! Please feel free to leave comments...just don't send me spam asking me to buy stuff off your website! I've got three kids and no money to purchase your magic weight-loss pill or bust enhancement, or whatever else you might be selling. Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you! :)
