Shopping Score of the Week: My Fashion Finds

Have you ever felt that some of your favorite stores go in cycles? One season they might have a store stuffed full of pieces that all seem to be crying "Amanda (insert your name here), take us home with you!" Another season, you might walk in and then walk right back out.

Old Navy tends to be that store for me. It had been awhile since I'd shopped there, but I took the girls (always a gamble) in last Monday to check out the Columbus Day deals. ON seems to be on the upside of the fashion cycle, because I found several fantastic deals that had to come home with me.

I can't afford to head into Macy's or Nordstroms and just grab whatever I want. Clothing purchases for me are limited to things that I really like...and they have to be a decent bargain. Old Navy didn't disappoint!

I am in looove with this super soft, stretchy pullover in that awesome grass green that looks fab on most dark haired people:
I found a super-cute cami back near the pjs to wear underneath the pullover for only $4.50! I wore it on Thursday paired with some boot-cut jeans and brown pointy-toed flats...would also look nice with khakis. Sometimes I like a preppy look.

Don't think I'm crazy, but the super-skinny skinny jeans also came home with me. My pair from last year that helped me to Conquer my Fashion Fear just weren't skinny enough, if that makes any sense at all to you. These were new to the store, but steeply discounted for the holiday.
I realize that "skinny" and "jeans" and "Amanda" haven't qualified to be in the same sentence since 2000, but I have a whole separate post planned on how to wear this trend if you no longer happen to be a size 6. Or 8. Or whatever....so don't hate on me, okay?

I didn't buy these sweaters, but they are too cute not to share with you today if you're in the market for something new for the season. Fun sweaters are my favorite thing to wear with jeans!

{Did you find any good deals this week?}

  2. I have that same sweater except in hot pink and maternity! I really love it, and yes, they stretch out a lot. I was skeptical when I was about to try on my normal size because it looked so little but the fabric is great and has lots of give. I love wearing sweaters too and would love to buy all the ones you pictured. :)

  3. We went to old navy too and got the same pieces! You and I must have like tastes.. :)

I also got the dark eggplant colored purple cardi--LOVE. I just colored my hair super dark so I needed some new colors to go with it, you're right the apple is fabulous. :)

I'm totally rocking the skinnies even though I said I never would, much easier to tuck into my boots than regular pants.

  4. I love that green sweater..I may run to ON to pick one up!! I haven't tried skinny jeans - but I imagine they would be cute with a great pair of boots.

It's just now cooling off here...so I can start thinking about wearing something other than flip flops!

  6. Super Cute! My daughter and I hit the outlet mall - got cool tank tops at PacSun for $3.50 each. Then she got some really cute stuff at Charlotte Russe - what a sale they had going on.

I ALMOST bought skinny jeans ... thinking they would go well with boots - maybe next time. :)

  7. I agree with you on Old Navy-I'll have to stop in though, cute sweater. I've never tried on a pair of skinny jeans-too afraid-i can't wait to see your ideas on them.

  8. I love that green shade - so pretty! I'm sure that's a gorgeous color on you.

And I totally know what you mean about the skinny jeans - I recently made the leap from skinny jeans to "jeggings" (ugh, hate that name), and am always trying to figure out the best way to pull off the look :)

  11. I love your new sweater. That green will look fabulous on you with your dark hair. Old Navy is hit or miss for me. Every once in a while I find something, but usually I leave empty handed. I'm encouraged to stop by there after seeing the cute sweater and jeans that you found.

  12. Oh I know what you mean! Old navt has always been a "hit or miss" store w/ me. I love those sweaters! So cute, I need to stock up on some for this winter too. I'd love it if you did a skinny jean fashion post! I'm still not brave enough to try any! :-)

  14. I am a bargain shopper through and through! Target and Kohl's are my go-to stores for deals (hellooo, clearance racks!), but I've found some good stuff at Old Navy, too. This week I found two shirts at Kohl's for a grand total of $7!

Those sweaters look cozy and perfect for fall!

I love to hear your feedback! Please feel free to leave comments...just don't send me spam asking me to buy stuff off your website! I've got three kids and no money to purchase your magic weight-loss pill or bust enhancement, or whatever else you might be selling. Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you! :)
