The Fastest Wreath in the East

The girls were busy decorating their playhouse this weekend (I think they need to call their landlord about the snow damage- can you see the snow filled sink in there?!)

and Emma was busy decorating herself,

...so I needed something to decorate.

Unfortunately, we were snowed in. I truly had to "shop my house" and put together a Valentine's wreath using only what I had on hand.

I started with a grapevine wreath that I've used for several other holidays. Kind of "meh," right?

I layered that with some pink berries, and a Target Dollar Spot heart wreath.

Secured with glittery heart ribbon.

I don't have a wood door, otherwise I would have looped the ribbon over the door like The Nester.
So...nothing glamorous or breathtaking here today, friends. Just a plain example of using what's on hand to celebrate.

My girls were excited to see it, but they were also excited when I pulled out a box of Multi-Grain Club Crackers, so that's not saying much.

  5. Amanda, this is a great idea! Gives that little heart wreath some real "oomph" to attach it to the grapevine wreath.

You are so funny. I nearly spit out my coffee at the idea that the girls should call their landlord about snow damage. . .and then again at the Club crackers line. Thanks for making me laugh!

  11. Very cute wreath! And no wood door here either. But when I want the Nester look I just loop it over anyway and then secure the ribbon or burlap or whatever I am using to loop with, at the top of my door with duct tape. You have to tape both the strands of ribbon or it will start to slip, but it works great and can not be seen.

  12. I saw that Target wreath last week and didn't buy it because I wasn't sure what to do with it. That turned out so cute! Hmmm, I wonder if my target has any of those left?...

  27. I don't think it has to be fancy, to make your kiddos go ga ga - anything sparkly, or pink and my girls are gone!

  28. Amanda! That turned out really cute! What a fun way to use things you already have on hand. I find it very theraputic to create something from what is around me to make the space even more beautiful. You did a nice job!

  33. Cute, cute! Very "valentines"! I must admit I'm not much of a V Day decorator...I should get on that!

  34. Cute! You might check the top of your door - mine isn't all wood, either but I found on the top that in between the metal it is pressed board or something. So I nailed into that. It works fabulously - you know I hang most of my wreaths with burlap sashes!

I love to hear your feedback! Please feel free to leave comments...just don't send me spam asking me to buy stuff off your website! I've got three kids and no money to purchase your magic weight-loss pill or bust enhancement, or whatever else you might be selling. Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you! :)
