Girlie Tree Skirt and Christmas/Blogiversary GIVEAWAY!

I've had several "Charlie Brown" trees in various rooms in my house for awhile now. Our main living room tree is always the real deal, but I couldn't afford to buy the large fake ones for the other rooms.

The bases on these trees are always problematic. Call the Fashion Police...this tree needs a skirt!
They scream "she bought me at Michaels with a 40% off coupon!" The paper taped to the metal base (to keep it from scratching the girls' table) doesn't exactly add to the ambiance of the room.

What's a girl to do?

I went to The Dollar Tree in search of something to cover the hideousness of our girlie tree. Imagine my disappointment when the only tree skirts that they carried were traditional red, green, and white.

Muttering to myself, I turned the cart towards the back of the store to find some styrofoam cups for Natalie's birthday party. My eyes widened in surprise when my gaze fell upon these lovelies:

Little girls' fairy dress-up skirts! Just what I needed!

I took the definition of "tree skirt" literally this time. (Don't worry, I've remedied the ugly cord sticking out of the side...such an eyesore!)

Now it's time for my Christmas/Blogiversary Giveaway!

Technically, I started my blog in January or February of 2008, but I only wrote a post or two before I succumbed to the demands of having a two year old a newborn.

In December of last year, I decided to take my blog a bit more seriously, and fell in love with posting about everything from my attempts at crafty things and decorating to conquering my fear of the Skinny Jean. This blog is my own personal sanity-saver, and I'm so glad some of you have hopped on for the ride!

To celebrate 1 Year of Blogging and to thank you for taking the time to read the drivel I put out here, I wanted to host a small Giveaway.

'Tis the season for all things Christmasy, so here's the loot:
A hardcover copy of Carol Field Dahlstrom's Merry Christmas Ideas. Filled with fun ideas for gifts, crafts, decorating, and memories.

I love the choo-choo train present topper!

Also...Better Homes & Gardens' "Holiday Crafts."

And...Taste of Home's "Gifts & Crafts."
Here's how you can win:
LEAVE A SEPARATE COMMENT FOR EACH ENTRY!

1. Leave me a comment. I especially love the ones telling me how fabulous I am. (Kidding. Sort of)
2. Followers get an extra entry if they enter (leave a separate comment letting me know if you are a Follower).
3. Blog about my Giveaway for a 3rd entry and let me know about it in a separate comment.

I'll announce the winner on Friday!
EDITED:*****GIVEAWAY IS CLOSED AS OF 10 PM (ET) 12/10/09.****

Thanks again to everyone who stops by to read...I hope I'm still entertaining you!

  13. You are so funny! I love reading your posts.

Congratulations on a whole year of faithful blogging. Good for you! Like you, I started blogging long ago--but then gave up after half a dozen posts. Since I've been blogging regularly, I've found it to be a great sanity-saver, too! Here's hoping I'll make it to a year as well. . . but I have a ways to go.

You are fabulous. You are a fabulous member of the blogging community--I love the way you actually VISIT the people who link up to a party and leave a comment! You wrote once that it's not a party if people just link up their entries without visiting the other folks, and that really resonated with me. So that's one reason I can honestly say that you're fabulous.

Congratulations! Keep up the good work!

(cute tree skirt! My daughter used to have a tree in her room, but last year she was kind of naughty with it, so she doesn't get it back this year. Maybe next year I'll use tulle for it's skirt!)
