Think of Me...

Think of me today. This is the weekend of "the wedding to show up all other weddings."

Okay, not really. But my sister is getting married tomorrow, and it is way bigger and way fancier than my wedding but I'm not jealous at all, no not me a pretty big wedding.

My two children, the ones who dress like this and do this to toilets, are expected to parade themselves sedately down the aisle in their "princess" dresses tomorrow.

I am terrified.

Natalie thinks she will be performing a solo of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and has been practicing with hand motions and everything. I've never seen a 3 1/2 year old hold a note like she can.

Michaela Byrd can be counted on to follow me, or be carried by me (I'm the Matron of Honor--doesn't that make me sound old?!), up the aisle, but anything's fair game once we get up there. I am just praying she doesn't shout "toot" or something when we reach the altar.

Did I mention that the wedding tomorrow (Sunday) is during prime crankiness time? Couldn't have planned this any better. I need some sort of device to signal T to run up and grab the girls and run them outside the church during the ceremony.

The reception should be okay, so long as they don't find the open bar and bribe the bartender. I hope he'll be checking I.D. A preschooler and a toddler at a bar would look mighty suspicious to me.

Then again, I could probably head them off, because depending on how they act today and tomorrow, I may be spending some time at the reception's bar myself.

Don't worry, there will be plenty of pictures next week to document this insanity. I'm off to the rehearsal in an hour!

Until then...

  5. I have do to the exact same thing next month!! Little sis is getting married the first weekend of Oct. and Jellybean is the flower girl. She was originally going to have to walk my sis' dogs down the aisle!! Thank goodness I talked her out of that one. Her dogs are extremely well trained, but I could just see her losing control of them and causing a big scene right at the beginning of the ceremony!

I'm sure the wedding will be beautiful, and your girls will be great! Lookin' forward to pictures!

  15. I just read your post and I know the wedding is over but I just wanted to let you know I'm sure everything was going to be fine. I bet you 3 looked beautiful in your dresses. Can't wait to see pics.

I can picture in my head those cute girls sitting at the bar and drinking Shirley Temples :) Of course they would have to play with the umbrella.

I love to hear your feedback! Please feel free to leave comments...just don't send me spam asking me to buy stuff off your website! I've got three kids and no money to purchase your magic weight-loss pill or bust enhancement, or whatever else you might be selling. Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you! :)
