So, we just so happened to run into designer Bob Mackie recently, here in the 'Burg of all places. Turns out he loves Target just as much as we do. He was so enchanted with my wild spirited oldest child that he insisted on designing and creating a gown for her to wear in Alison's September wedding. It just arrived wrapped in a tissue-lined box, delivered by Mackie's own personal assistant, who flew here just to make sure the creation made it safely.
Bob Mackie truly outdid himself this time. Sorry, but Carol Burnett and Cher have got nuthin' on this one! Here's the big reveal...
Notice that it has the sheer quality to the bodice and the sleeves. I don't want to hurt Bob's feelings, so I didn't say anything, but that's why she's wearing the long-sleeved shirt underneath. Doesn't she look ravishing? She'd stop traffic, for sure.
Orrrrrrrr....maybe, just maybe, we found this dress for ten cents at a high school yard sale on Saturday morning. I dunno. I'll let you decide which story you like better. I personally prefer the Bob.
Her first comment was, "Oh, I can wear 'dis to Bobo (that's what she calls my sister-a whole different post, for sure) and Sam's wedding. And I will dance."
Michaela Byrd took one look at her in the blindingly beautiful glitter top and said, "Oooooooooh!"
Singing her heart out. Alison, have you hired a band yet? She'd totally perform, and I bet she charges way less. Something like "a cookie, some grapes, and some monies."
Um, yea, the Bob and the runway smile.....both get my vote!!! Love it!
